Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 12, 2026

Slim version for closed beta and initial App Store / Play Store launch. The Service is not currently offered to users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
1. Who we are
Fathom (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a personalized AI briefing service available via web (mybrief-tau.vercel.app) and iOS/Android apps (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Immersion Family Offices LLC, Minnesota, reachable at jake@immersionfamilyoffices.com.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2. What we collect
- Account information: your email and a display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identity token and your verified email from that provider.
- Personalization inputs: the topics, subjects, study cadences, and preferences you choose during onboarding, together with identity and context you optionally provide so your briefs are more relevant — such as your role or occupation, location (used for features like local sunrise and sunset times), your current focus and goals, your life stage, your intellectual or philosophical interests, and your faith, religion, or worldview. These context fields are optional; you can skip any of them, and we use them only to generate briefs tailored to you.
- Sensitive information: some personalization inputs can reveal sensitive personal information — most notably your religious beliefs, worldview, or philosophical convictions, along with any sensitive details you choose to type into free-text fields. Because Fathom is a personal-formation product, we treat this as sensitive information. Providing it is entirely optional. We use it only to personalize the briefs we generate for you and the context we send to our AI provider (Anthropic) at generation time. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, and we never sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can view, edit, or remove this information from your Profile screen at any time, or remove it entirely by deleting your account.
- Generation history: the briefs we generate for you, timestamps, and aggregate cost metadata. We use this to deliver the Service, prevent abuse, and improve generation quality.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error events from the mobile app, including stack traces, device model, and OS version. We use these to detect and fix crashes and to improve reliability. We do not include the content of your briefs.
- Product analytics: events about how you use the Service (e.g., which screens you view, when you generate a brief, paywall interactions) tied to a Service-generated user identifier. We do not attach your email or other directly identifying personal data to these analytics events.
- Subscription state: whether you have an active Fathom subscription, the product purchased, renewal status, and expiration date. We do not receive your payment-card information; Apple handles payment and shares only the entitlement state with us via RevenueCat.
- Server logs: IP address, user-agent, and request metadata. Retained up to 30 days for security and operational debugging.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, browsing history outside the Service, health information, financial information, photos, audio, biometric identifiers, or third-party advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not profile your activity outside the Service.
3. How we use it
- Deliver the Service: authenticate you, generate your briefs, and deliver them in-app or by email.
- Improve the Service: aggregated and de-identified analysis of generation outcomes (e.g., length, failure rates) to tune our prompts and infrastructure.
- Communicate with you about your account.
- Prevent abuse and comply with applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We use the following service providers, each acting on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Apple and Google — if you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, the provider verifies your identity and returns an identity token and your verified email to us. They act as identity providers for sign-in only; we do not send them your personalization inputs or your briefs.
- Anthropic — AI model inference. Your personalization inputs and recent generation context are sent as prompt inputs at generation time. Anthropic does not train its models on our API inputs by default and may retain inputs briefly (up to 30 days) for safety review.
- Serper or equivalent — web-search lookups for fresh news relevant to your topics.
- Sentry — mobile crash and error reporting. Receives the diagnostics described in Section 2 when the mobile app crashes or encounters an error.
- PostHog — product analytics. Receives the product-analytics events described in Section 2, identified by a Service-generated user identifier (not your email).
- Apple — in-app subscription billing for iOS. Apple processes your payment and sends us only the subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) and expiration date. We do not see your payment-card details.
- RevenueCat — receives subscription events from Apple on our behalf and forwards them to our servers so we can grant or revoke access. RevenueCat does not receive your payment-card details.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or harm. If Fathom is involved in a merger or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction; any successor will remain bound by this Policy with respect to information collected before the transaction.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information and personalization inputs for as long as your account is active. Generation history is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons (typically up to seven years for billing and subscription records). Subscription records (status, billing dates, product purchased) are kept for as long as required by applicable tax law even after account deletion. Server logs are kept up to 30 days. Deletion propagates to backups on our standard rotation, typically within 30 days.
6. Your choices
You can:
- Access or correct your information from your Profile screen.
- Delete your account at any time using the “Delete account” option in the Profile screen of the web or mobile app, or by emailing jake@immersionfamilyoffices.com. Deletion is permanent.
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in the footer of each email. Service-related email (such as account notices) is required and cannot be unsubscribed while your account is active.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Email jake@immersionfamilyoffices.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days).
7. Children
The Service is not directed to or intended for use by anyone under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use the Service. If we learn we have collected personal information from a user under 16 without verifiable parental consent where required, we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for authentication credentials on your device, and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach affecting your information, we will notify affected users without undue delay and as required by applicable law.
9. Where we operate
Fathom is operated from the United States and our infrastructure providers operate globally. The Service is not currently offered to users in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice before they take effect. The “Last Updated” date above shows when this Policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance.
